Indonesia, Yogyakarta (2011)

Vision & Inspiration: Yogyakarta has always been a country I wanted to visit ever since my University days. I got to know about this beautiful place through my professor, who shared about her amazing adventure in Yogya with the class one day. Visiting Prambanan that day, I couldn’t take my eyes off the well-preserved Hindu temples in front of me. Every temple has a story to tell, from the construction to the philosophical underpinnings of Hinduism. I simply enjoy listening to stories of such, stories of ancient times, because there will always be something valuable I could take away with me at the end of the day.

Norway, Bergen (2010)

Vision & Inspiration: Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen, is a charming collection of wooden houses with a rich history to it. As I snapped away, I was pleasantly reminded of the kind of houses I would draw as a kid; triangular roof with lots of windows. That was a nice blast from the past. Alvin and I had a lovely stroll along the wharf that day. We walked by the wharf at different times, and as the light changes, the colour of the houses changes too. And needless to say, witnessing sunset was definitely the icing on the cake.

France, Paris (2011)

Vision & Inspiration: When I was in Paris, I wasn’t all excited to see the Eiffel even though I have been told many times that its a must-see. To me, it’s probably just another one of those overrated tourist attractions. But you know what? As cliche as it sounds, the Eiffel is truly magnificent and I was completely blown away. I have to say that the Eiffel Tower on its own (sans the insane crowd and lines of people) is worth a visit; the sheer size of the tower and the iron work is truly amazing. It is no doubt an experience of a lifetime!

Denmark, Copenhagen (2010)

Vision & Inspiration: One thing I enjoyed tremendously during my stay in Copenhagen was having the opportunity to explore and experience the beautiful city on two wheels. I had so much fun riding around even though the bike was a tad big for me, and I had to pedal standing up. Imagine that! But you know what? Getting those wobbly legs at the end of the day was still well worth it! Good times!

Vision & Inspiration: Even though the sky was blue and the grass was incredibly green, my mind just went B/W as I took in all the beauty and serenity surrounding me. Sometimes, life is not all about the colours. Viewing life in B/W strips away distractions and help us focus better on the minute details in our lives.

Vision & Inspiration: I felt really small as I gazed up at the massive ceiling of the museum. The interior stone work is beautiful. It truly is by far, the most stunning building I’ve seen for a museum.

Vision & Inspiration: I stood still on the bridge for a few minutes, looked down and saw many pairs of feet and needless to say, shadows. Saw a handful of cool-looking shoes as well. It was quite a sight!

Vision & Inspiration: After dinner, Alvin and I took a slow walk along the Hanseatic Wharf. With the sun setting right in front of our eyes, we took a moment to appreciate and enjoy the beauty around us. The simple pleasures in life just work wonders for your soul.
